ABOUT EVENT
The Bilingual Target Language Proficiency Test (BTLPT) is an essential certification for bilingual educators in Texas, ensuring they have the language skills necessary to support emergent bilingual students effectively. This comprehensive exam evaluates proficiency in Spanish across four critical areas: speaking, writing, reading, and listening. Success on the BTLPT verifies that educators can deliver instruction in Spanish, fostering equitable and inclusive classrooms for the state’s significant population of Spanish-speaking students.
This two-part preparation course is designed to address the unique challenges of the BTLPT and ensure participants are equipped for success. The course includes eight one-hour asynchronous webinars held every Saturday from February 22 to May 3. The webinars target the most challenging sections—Speaking and Writing—while providing participants with daily homework and individualized feedback to drive continuous improvement. Additionally, participants gain 90-day access to an online practice platform to hone their Reading and Listening skills, focusing on the exam's specific question formats. Together, these tools deliver a structured yet flexible pathway for educators to achieve their certification goals.
